King’s Yard – Galtymore
9.2km of fresh air, great views and utter bliss await you as you make your way along this out-and-back hiking trail near Kilbeheny. Considered one of Limerick’s more challenging routes, it takes about 4 hours to complete. As an added precaution, the owners have painted rocks leading the way along the route as you journey to the top and enjoy stunning views that are sure to leave you speechless.
Bernard Loop
Just a little outside of Limerick is Bernard’s Loop. Although your four-legged friend will have to miss out, the beautiful Bernard Loop in Mitchelstown is still a winner. Perfect for mountain biking and trail running, this moderately challenging 6.6km route has an average completion time of about two hours. After the initial uphill, the loop has a stunning mixture of open forest paths, gravel roads and grassy hills.
